Ahri is a superstar in the League of Legends universe, and Riot Games always makes sure she’s part of pretty much everything.

It’s not a big surprise that they’ve brought her in to be among the Project L champions. In the early peeks of the game, you can see Ahri going head-to-head with Darius, using a ranged attack to smack him.

In the later versions, she exhibits a cool acrobatic style, pulling off awesome moves in the air, launching herself to execute powerful mid-air combos.

Darius

The tough top lane fighter is making his way into the League of Legends brawl game, too.

Up against Ahri, it’s obvious that their their fighting approaches are pretty different. Ahri’s all about speed and soaring through the air, while Darius keeps it on the ground with a heavy-hitting tactic that involves smashing foes against walls then slamming them down.

While Darius and Ahri have taken the spotlight in trailers and promotional content, they weren’t the only initial characters showcased in action.

The first gameplay glimpse of Project L featured a showdown between Jinx and Katarina. Jinx, with her array of firearms, seems to specialize in long-range combat.

Initially depicted in her classic LoL appearance, recent trailers reveal her sporting an outfit reminiscent of her appearance in the popular animated series Arcane.

Katarina made a brief appearance in the initial Project L reveal, demonstrating a swift dash and the ability to leap forward for an attack.

Unlike in League of Legends, Katarina appears to operate without the need to position daggers for these maneuvers. Details about her exact role among the Project L champions remain scarce.

Ekko

During the RiotX Arcane event, it was confirmed that Ekko would be part of the Project L champions roster.

In League of Legends, Ekko’s ultimate ability allows him to create a time-traveling afterimage of himself. This unique mechanic will define Ekko’s playstyle in the fighting game, potentially enabling him to execute combos or evade reprisals after missing attacks.

Before Evo 2022, Riot Games provided fans with an update on Project L, offering a glimpse of additional gameplay footage.

Among the revelations was the inclusion of Illaoi as a playable character in the Project L champions lineup. While no fresh gameplay footage has been unveiled, concept art hints at Illaoi adopting a robust combat approach, equipped for short, medium, and long-range engagements.

Yasuo

Yasuo entered the fray as a playable Project L champion, first announced at Evo 2023.

Bringing his trademark speed and swordsmanship to the roster, he sports a versatile stance which he fluidly transitions in and out of.

Yasuo’s toolkit equips him for diverse scenarios, enabling him to face off against any opponent with an assortment of techniques.
