Call of Duty veteran Anthony “Methodz” Zinni has returned to OpTic Gaming as a content creator following his recent retirement from the professional scene. The announcement came as a shock to many, as the 25-year-old shared his decision to step away from competing on the stage at the Major Two stage in Boston.

He joins Seth “Scump” Abner as recent retirees now signed to the green wall. Scump has called the organization home for most of his career while Methodz served a brief stint under the banner during Call of Duty: World War II back in 2018.

Methodz made the announcement during a stream alongside none other than his friend and current OpTic member Scump. The latter opened the stream with a gracious, “Zinni is back, ladies and gentlemen.” The two will be pairing up to host Call of Duty League watch parties they explained as part of the announcement.

Former player turned coach and now content creator Tyler “TeePee” Polchow also represents OpTic, an organization he represented during his time in the professional scene so this is not unfamiliar territory for the team.

Throughout his career, Methodz played for many organizations including Echo Fox, SoaR, Rise Nation, FaZe Clan, Toronto Ultra, and more.

Given OpTic’s latest member has over a decade-long career in the title, he’s certainly got plenty to add to the discussion when watching the best of the best clash. Fans will be able to see the duo taking on the CDL watch parties together starting today, February 17 when the Major Three qualifiers take place.

It won’t all be Call of Duty, however, as the newest retiree plans to enjoy some other games on stream as well. Regardless, it’s a massive pickup for the green wall and a huge opportunity for a man choosing to follow a new path.
