Over the past year, the presence of Filipino Mobile Legends: Bang Bang pro players competing in foreign MPL regions has reached an unprecedented level.

Noteworthy players like Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol from ONIC Esports and Mariusz “Donut” Tan from BURN X Flash have made significant contributions to their respective teams, leading them to success in their respective leagues.

Despite this trend, there has been a notable absence of imports playing in MPL PH.

Blacklist International star Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna strongly believes that the time has come for MPL PH teams to explore the idea of bringing in foreign talents in the upcoming seasons.

In a recent livestream, the 29-year-old roamer answered a viewer’s question about the idea of imports playing for Blacklist International and she said that she would like to see it happen.

When Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario mentioned ONIC Esports’ Albert “Alberttt” Iskandar in the background, V33nus nodded in agreement.

“I want to experience that,” she said. “Indonesia benefits from having PH imports, as they get to understand our meta in the PH region and also that of Malaysia and Singapore.”

“So why not consider bringing in Indonesian imports, as well as players from Malaysia or Singapore? We can train them to adapt and excel in the unique environment of the MPL PH scene,” she added.

Undoubtedly, Indonesia, particularly ONIC Esports, has reaped significant rewards from acquiring imports.

The addition of Kairi and coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda resulted in an impressive collection of trophies, including back-to-back MPL ID championships, the MPLI 2022 and MSC 2023 titles, and most recently, the ESL Snapdragon title.

With MPL PH Season 12 on the horizon, fans and teams alike eagerly await news regarding the potential inclusion of imports for the upcoming season.
