Primary tasks of a roamer in Mobile Legends

Buy roaming equipment

At the start of the game, you must buy roaming equipment, which is designed to enhance the effectiveness of roamers. It comes with the movement item or Boots that you’ve purchased, and offers four distinct “Blessings”: Conceal, Encourage, Favor, and Dire Hit.

Having roaming boots also grants you two unique passive effects: Devotion and Thriving. Devotion prevents you from gaining gold and experience from creeps and minions, ensuring you don’t share these resources with nearby allies.

To offset this, Thriving gives you extra 25 percent EXP and gold from assists. Additionally, it gives the ally with the lowest gold/EXP a certain amount of said resources every few seconds. But if you have the lowest gold/EXP in your team, you gain 25 percent more of the bonuses.

Upon earning 600 gold from Thriving, your chosen Blessing will be unlocked. The power of the Blessings scales with the gold from Thriving (up to 1500 gold).

Rotate around the map

Roamers are expected to move around the map strategically to help their team.

You can leash your jungler for them to get the purple or orange buff much faster, go to a lane to pick off an enemy or help an ally, or invade the enemy jungle.

However, it’s essential to exercise caution when roaming, as it can also harm you or your teammate.

Before leaving a lane, make sure that your ally can handle it alone. Also, keep an eye out for missing enemies on the mini-map and assess your available skills before making a move.

To be effective in tanking damage, you need to purchase defensive items that match the composition of the opposing team.

If they rely on physical damage, buy physical defense items such as Antique Cuirass, Blade Armor, or Dominance Ice. If they depend on magic damage, get Athena’s Shield, Radiant Armor, or Oracle. You can mix and match based on the situation of the game.

While it’s your job to take damage, surviving is also important to avoid giving away gold and EXP to the enemy team. This means that you need to be mindful of your positioning and avoid taking unnecessary damage.

For roamers with healing abilities, continuously restoring your allies’ HP during team fights is crucial.

As such, you need to build items that regenerate mana and lower cooldowns (like Enchanted Talisman), boost healing effects (such as Oracle), and provide enough defense for you to last in clashes.

Provide vision for the team

Gathering information about the enemy’s position is crucial in Mobile Legends, especially when taking objectives such as the Turtle or Lord.

Therefore, one of the primary responsibilities of a roamer is to serve as a walking ward, providing vision for the team.

To do this, you need to position yourself near the enemy, but with caution. You also need to check bushes by using skills or directly approaching them.

By providing vision, you enable your teammates to make informed decisions about when to attack or retreat to safety, which can significantly impact the outcome of the game.
